Duplex Peripheral Artery

Duplex Peripheral Artery: This study is used to evaluate narrowing or blockage in the arteries supplying the legs. Leg pain particularly if exacerbated by walking, or non-healing ulcers anywhere in the legs, may prompt your doctor to order this test. Known heart disease and diabetes are additional risk factors that can lead to blockages in the leg arteries. Findings on ultrasound may prompt a more definitive study to better evaluate the leg arteries such as MR or CT angiogram.
